Find your tribe: the power of community in achieving your goals.

Do you have the support of a group of people you respect and emulate?

Do you benefit from the shared knowledge and resources of a circle of like-minded leaders?

Are you part of a community that helps you go further, faster, and enjoy the ride more?

Have you found your tribe?!

Many of us have big, audacious goals in business and in life, and are fully committed to achieving our highest potential.

But trying to take that journey alone means you are more likely to get off track, move at a glacial pace, and never even arrive at your goal.

Comprehensive research into the science of goal setting and achievement reveals that without accountability and leaning on others for support, you are far less likely to hit your target. (You can find out more about goal setting on my recent blog here.)

You’ll go much further and faster with a supportive community, and that’s what I’d like to explore with you. And there are two forms of community I would like to focus on today: Mastermind Groups and Accountability Groups.

Mastermind Groups and Accountability Groups are both powerful tools for personal and professional growth, albeit with slightly different focuses and structures.

A Mastermind Group is a collective of individuals who come together regularly to support each other in achieving their goals, solving problems, and sharing knowledge and expertise. These groups are typically composed of like-minded individuals committed to personal and professional development. They can be formal or informal, meeting in person or virtually.

An Accountability Group specifically focuses on holding its members accountable for taking action toward their goals. These groups are often smaller and more structured in their approach, with a primary emphasis on tracking progress, setting deadlines, and ensuring accountability.

Both Mastermind and Accountability Groups can play starring roles in supporting your pursuit of success and fulfillment, whether in business or personal development.

By leveraging the collective wisdom, support, and accountability of these groups, individuals you’ll find you can turbocharge your growth, overcome challenges, and enjoy the ride much more!

Here are ten ways Mastermind and Accountability Groups will empower you to reach your goals:

  1. Unlock different perspectives.
By being a part of a mastermind group, you’ll gain new viewpoints and perspectives from other members, allowing you to reframe challenges, opportunities, and see the world through a different lens.
  2. Network with great people.
Your network is your net worth, and mastermind groups allow you to expand professional collaborations that allow you to grow and succeed at your goals. Likewise, you’ll have genuine support and encouragement from people who want to see you succeed and form authentic friendships along the way.
  3. Gain accountability.
Accountability is one of the keys to achieving goals, and you’ll be alone under the spotlight at times and held to a high standard in both mastermind and definitely in accountability groups. We’ll talk much more about accountability down the line!
  4. Level up your skills and knowledge.
If you want your outer world to look better, work on your inner world. I’m not sure who first said that, but I couldn’t agree more. And a part of that personal development is educating yourself and learning valuable new skills and personal wisdom.
  5. Don’t face problems or challenges alone.
Once you find your tribe, you’ll be able to bounce problems and challenges off of others who have been there before – and solved them. I can’t stress how important that is, as the collective mastermind support always accelerates your ability to reach goals.
  6. Share resources and great referrals
One of the best aspects of participating in a mastermind group is that you get to benefit from the strategies, tools, and great referrals that have worked well for others. Sharing those resources allows everyone to get past the mistakes, mediocre results, and bad actors if you’re going it alone!
  7. Get inspired!
Most entrepreneurs and leaders face burnout at some point. So, joining a mastermind group can help you regain that jolt of inspiration, allowing you to wake up motivated and reignite your passion for WHY you want to achieve your goals in the first place! You’ll benefit in incredible ways just by being around the incredible leaders and innovators in your group.
  8. Overcome your blind spots.
An important aspect of growing and evolving is identifying your blind spots in life. But that’s extremely difficult to do on your own, which is where a coach, mentor, mastermind, or accountability group comes in. The honest feedback, support, and encouragement you’ll receive from your new tribe will prove invaluable in overcoming these blind spots!
  9. Unblock your upper-limit problems.
Many of us have self-imposed limitations or even a habit of self-sabotage, holding us back from achieving what we truly want and deserve. Being in a group of leaders and professionals who hold you accountable means looking in the mirror and finally unblocking those upper-limit problems.

For more on upper-limit problems and self-sabotage, read my past blog here.
  1. Your compass to lead you forward.
Whatever your goal, mission, or purpose, being in a mastermind or accountability group will help serve as your compass, making sure you’re on track and moving towards your ideal vision and highest purpose.

Have you utilized the power of community in reaching your goals in the past? Or are you just now taking on a big undertaking and are interested in finding your tribe that will help you stay inspired and accountable?

I’d love to hear from you.
